BACKGROUND

Brassaii is an iconic fixture in Toronto's Fashion District for the past 12 years. The last four has been partnered with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) as the host venue for insider news and daily coverage for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The venue is a known hotspot for celebrity sightings and in-the-know A-lister afterparties.

As Brassaii’s marketing agency of record, Craft + Keen was tasked with creating a 4-Ad Series especially for THR's TIFF edition.

CHALLENGE

1 Conceptualize, design, and copywrite a themed ad series that pays homage to the film industry.

2 Spotlight the venue as a staple restaurant and lounge destination during the festival.

RESULTS

  • The concept was a tribute to nostalgic cinema culture, when theatre attendants donned red vests, punched tickets and guided patrons to their seat to watch Jean-Luc Godard's film premiere; while playfully using industry terminology.
  • 4 000+ copies of each issue were distributed daily across key event venues and hotels during TIFF.
  • The magazine was also sold in newstands across the U.S.
